General Considerations.

When contemplating the possibility of undertaking a digital project, there are many aspects to be considered at the planning stage. Some of the aspects to be considered are legal, managerial and technical. Many of these decisions perhaps should be addressed even before a grant proposal is made.

Once a decision has been made as to what content to digitize and it has been determined that digitization is legal under all applicable copyright laws, then consideration must be given as to whether the project is to be done in-house or out-sourced.
