Access to world-class libraries. UW-Madison's collection on Central and East Europe, Russia, and Central Eurasia is one of the best in the country. Its holdings now total over 300,000 titles, including 242,000 in languages of the region, together with more than 60,000 titles about the region in English or other West European languages.
Learning Support Services (LSS) in the College of Letters and Science has one of the most sophisticated language labs in the country and facilitates use and development of instructional technology like multi-media and computer-based instructional materials.
A close partnership with local heritage organization Madison-Vilnius Sister Cities, http://madisonvilnius.org/ MVSC has been working since 1989 to expand the cultural exchange between the capitals of Wisconsin and Lithuania. BALSSI at UW-Madison frequently partners with MVSC on concerts, lectures, picnics, and other cultural programs relating to Lithuania.
